Excerpt from Indiana School Laws: Enacted by the General Assembly of 1911; Arranged by the State Department of Public Instruction Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, That section 1 of the above entitled act be amended to read as follows: Section 1. It shall be the duty of the township trustees, boards of school trustees and boards of school commissioners of the various school corporations of this state, upon the petition of a majority of the school patrons of any district school to procure a United States flag not less than six feet long for each school under their supervision. Sec. 2. That section two of the above entitled act be amended to read as follows: Section 2. The township trustees, boards of school trustees and boards of school commissioiners of the various school corporations in this state shall cause the United States flag to be displayed upon every public school building under their control on every school day such school is in session: Provided, That the weather conditions permit. Such trustees and boards shall establish rules and regulations for the proper care, custody and display of the flag and when for any cause it is not displayed, it shall be placed conspicuously in the principal room or assembly hall of the school building.
